Animals are so great and i love to watch them as they begin to learn from us. I like to watch this take place when I watch the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan on expertsatellite TV. This is one of my favorite shows because I have dogs of my own. I used to try to get them to behave, but was unsuccessful most of the time.

After I started watching the Dog Whisperer, I was able to understand that I was going about training all wrong. I was trying to force my dogs to do what I wanted and that made them resist me all the more. Now I know something about the psychology of dogs in general and am applying that to the way I work with my dogs.

I have some pretty well balanced dogs now. What I learned from Cesar was how to become the Alpha leader for my dogs. Now they don't have to worry about having to step up and take that position when I am not doing a good job. Imagine how that takes the distress away from them, and me too.

The main thing that I have learned from watching this program is that you cannot treat dogs like you do children. They interpret some of that to mean weakness and that just sets everyone up for trouble.
