I personally have friends in the military service and what makes them more admirable is the fact that they still find the time to further their education by taking up online military degrees while deployed. According to them, it's not only the professional benefits they are after, but their online classes somehow helps lessen their homesickness as well. They said it keeps their mind off on "touchy" things like the family and friends they left back home. Well, they have a point. While wallow in homesickness when you can be productive, right?
