Michelle Duggar Gives Birth to 19th Child! Posted at 12/12/2009 12:15:00 AM 0 comments (+) Michelle Dugar of the reality TV show "18 Kids and Counting" had an emergency C-section Thursday night and gave birth to a 1 pound, 6 ounces baby girl. Josie Brooklyn Duggar, the 19th kid, was not due until March 18, 2010 but because of preeclampsia (a life-threatening, pregnancy-related disease in which the mother's blood pressure can rise dangerously high), Michelle Duggar had to deliver the baby three months early.

Josie Brooklyn Duggar checked in at 6:27 p.m. She weighed 1 pound, 6 ounces and was reported to be resting in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. A family spokesman told People magazine that the infant was expected to be fine.

“The most important thing right now is for mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible,” a TLC spokesman said in a statement issued to People. “The family is grateful for all the prayers and well-wishes during their recovery.”
