This news really shocked me this morning! But well, we all make our own choices and Karel chose to be married and pregnant despite a flourishing showbiz career. To the expectant parents, congratulations!

ACTRESS-singer Karel Marquez, daughter of stage actress Pinky Marquez, admitted on national TV that she is pregnant.

Karel said she is expecting to give birth anytime this March to a baby girl.

She and non-showbiz husband decided to name the baby as Kayelyn Audrianna.

Karel disclosed that she had a civil wedding last February 2008 in Australia.

She said they are planning to have a church wedding after her pregnancy.

"Of course, I would want to have a church wedding but I can't walk the aisle in this condition, stress-free also," she added.

After giving birth, Karel said she will momentarily leave showbiz to be hands-on mother to Kayelyn.
